Weebly: Basics of SiteSync Navigating and Editing

Last Updated: Nov 20, 2018 01:52PM EST

On Weebly sites, all content on the site is displayed on the Home page and you can use the right-hand scroll bar to access the other sections: Menu, Gallery, Location and Contact Us.

Each item you hover over on the site will display editing options for resizing, text formatting, etc.

The Preview button in the top right-hand corner will show you a consumer-facing preview of your site edits, and the Publish button will make any changes live for consumers to view.

  • NOTE: Edits save within the Editor automatically and there is no “undo” button to go back to what you had before unless you exit out and start over.

The only three tabs at the top of the Editor that you will use are
Build, Pages and Theme, and the left-hand navigation bar changes depending on which tab you choose at the top of the page.

Build Tab:

The navigation bar displayed in the image below is for the Build page.

  • You can drag and drop any of the icons from the navigation bar into the site to add a Title, Text block, Image, Map, Social Media icons, etc.
  • As you start to drag an icon onto the page, areas will become highlighted for where you can drop it.

Pages Tab:

The Pages tab is where you can manage, add or remove the Pages (tabs) that appear across the top of the site. Typically sites will have five Pages: Home, Menu, Gallery, Location and Contact Us

  • You can drag and drop the page names that appear in the left-hand navigation bar to rearrange the order in which the Pages appear across the top of the site.
  • If you click on a given Page in the left-hand navigation bar, the only options you will use are “Hide in Navigation” if you do not want that Page appearing on the consumer-facing site but may want to use it later, or you can click Delete to remove the Page altogether.

You can also click the “+” button to create a new Page from scratch. If you are adding a new Page, you will have to choose a Page type:

Theme Tab:
The Theme tab can be used if you would like to change the full layout/theme of the site. You will only use Change Theme or Change Fonts from the left-hand navigation bar:

Clicking Change Theme will take you to the Theme Gallery in Weebly that you can select from:

Clicking Change Fonts will give you a list in the left-hand navigation bar of areas to change the font. If you hover over an option in the nav bar, it will highlight the area on the site screen. If you click the option in the navigation bar, you will have settings to change the font Size, Style, Weight, etc.
